Hi All!
I am so thrilled to say we have arrived in Skoczow, Poland!
Today was another great day. We were able to start the
morning with a lovely Polish breakfast before continuing on with our English
camp training. In training today, the leaders from Josiah Venture went over
some tips and advice on teaching English in our classrooms at camp. We also
learned a bit about some of the differences to expect between the American and
Polish cultures. I think I speak for the
whole team when I say it was great to have some advice from the Poles prior to
going in to camp. After a morning of training and worship all of the teams
packed their bags to head off to each of their respective cities where various
camps will be held throughout Poland. It was sad to say goodbye to the other
teams and all the Josiah Venture crew as we formed new friendships with them
over the past 2 days, but we were also anxious to be on our way to start our
mission in Skoczow. Timberwood loaded up in a van along with one other team and
drove 7 hours south (With a pit stop for some McDonald’s of course J) where we arrived in
Skoczow and were so graciously greeted by Dominika and Ania. After getting all checked in to our hotel
they we so kind as to host our team for a late night snack and ice cream where
we were all able to reunite and meet some of the fellow Polish camp
leaders. It was great to be able to bond
with our Polish team and spend time building relationships in Christ as we
unite as one to put on the English camp which starts on Saturday.
It was a long and exhausting day, but the love of Christ
that exudes from everyone we come in contact with everyday is truly amazing and
I continue to thank God that we are all able to be a part of this opportunity
to share the Gospel.
We thank you for the continued prayers and look forward to
updating you as the journey continues!
God Bless,
Leah
Blessings and strength to you all, Leah! Thanks for the update.
